Sustainable Life Goods

sustainable goods store

Asch Building is the best thing that has happened in the Heights (the part of Houston I live in). It’s one of the main reasons I don’t want to move. It’s basically a store that has everything you need in life. It’s split into three sections: Market, Home and Atelier. Everything is locally and/or sustainably sourced. If you’re in the Houston area, it’s a must to check out. And of course, I wouldn’t be writing such a niche only-for-Houston-babes post. They have an online website where you can buy almost everything they sell in-store minus the fresh produce.

Highlight of favourite items

💫 The incense ($18)– YIELD Design; the Coquina one is absolute PERFECTION

💫 The hand soap and dish soap and detergent and purpose cleaner refill ($0.47/ounce) – they'll simply send it to you in a community container that you can then send back to them/send them your own to have filled; forget all the generic brands, at Asch, it's all sustainable and safe and you can add your own essential oils to make all your home goods smell the way you want them to (they also just upgraded and you can go refill your toothpaste tablets, shampoo bars, conditioners and soaps all in one station)

💫 The lip balm ($10) – Poppy & Pout is so moisturising and the sweet mint smells amazing and has that tingly effect which we love for a cute pout

💫 The mascarpone sauce ($9.50) – fucking delectable; the creamiest and most versatile sauce on the planet. Seriously I put it in everything: pasta, potatoes, chicken, veggies. It works.

💫 The pasta – both fresh ($10.50) and the packaged ($6) ones; get it get it

💫 The soap pouch ($3.95) – prolong the life of your soap + forget the gross loofas that feel horrible on your skin (currently sold out but you can also find it at the Refinement House here)

💫 The charcoal soap ($10) – from Apotheke specifically; makes skin feel so soft and the smell stays with you

If you’re in the Houston area or coming here, it’s a must-stop destination. The location is perfect and the entire space is super cute and aesthetic and instagramable which we love (the pink in Atelier and the yellow in Home are perfect not to mention their bathroom green omg). They also have a coffee bar at the market that serves delicious coffee drinks, so many tea varieties as well as pastries and these delicious goat milk popsicles from @goatmilkpop. I know it’s getting colder but yum it’s a must-try.

Everyone there is super friendly too which is such a bonus and each person is knowledgeable of their department. Also there’s a patio bar that sells both alcoholic and incredible non-alcoholic drinks in the back so make sure to check it out if you go in person (just walk out the backdoor of the market and follow the path to the right).

Until next time,

Stay present in the now and check out the Asch Building website~
